Freelancer Community DoNanza Raises $1 Million From Eric Schmidt's Fund, Others..
DoNanza, which operates a platform for freelancers from all over the world (see our earlier coverage), has raised $1 million in funding from Google chairman Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors fund, AfterDox and other investors.

Founded in 2008 by Ami Dudu, Liran Kotzer and Gil Pal, DoNanza consolidates freelance jobs published across the Web, and matches them with freelancers in their database based on their individual skill sets and expectations.

The startup says its platform is used by hundreds of thousands of freelancers from all over the globe on a monthly basis. Soon, co-founder Liran Kotzer says, the company will launch a new product for freelances to better promote themselves online.

Conceived in 2008 by Liran Kotzer, Gil Pal and Ami Dudu and launched in June 2009 DoNanza is the first search engine to focus exclusively on the online-freelance market. DoNanza indexes freelance projects from more than 600 websites and now displays around 70,000 active projects over several categories (web design, coding, writing, etc.) and is growing by 4,000 new projects a day.

Users on DoNanza see structured results that can be filtered based on budget, payment type, duration, original site and field specific keywords. Upon clicking users are taken directly to the site where the project was originally posted.
